Inspired by song Nails which was created by a drag queen Alaska Thunderfuck. The song talks about the significance of nails in drag culture, and with broader understanding, about significance of nails in temporary beauty standards considering women. My painting Nails shows exaggerated significance of nails in society nowadays. With phosphorescent acrylic paint the connection of the nails to rest of the body through veins was exposed. However in the daylight, image of hands looks usual.
